GreenSlate is seeking an experienced VP of Finance to lead the GreenSlate Finance team located in New York, NY. The VP of Finance will manage the FP&A and accounting functions of the company in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and practices appropriate to the organization. The ideal candidate will have prior experience leading a technology-driven company through periods of rapid growth and building out a robust finance and accounting function to support all associated company needs, including any fundraising or due diligence efforts. This position will report directly to the CEO with extensive cross-functional interaction.

  • Oversee the financial reporting function to deliver accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, revenue forecasting, annual audits, and annual budgets.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, including the introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
  • Continually improve the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting department budgets.
  • Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team.
  • Oversee the activities of the Accounting department, which include the weekly reconciliation of the payroll system to the corporate ledger, timely and accurate processing of accounts payable, invoicing, management of aging accounts receivable, and collection and application of receipts.
  • Ensure corporate tax compliance and coordinate with designated CPA firms to manage tax records.
  • Work with an outside CPA firm to facilitate the year-end audit.
  • Implement operational best practices within the department.
  • Advise on mitigating the company risk profile.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
  • Evaluate the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group.



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA certification highly preferred
  • MBA in Finance or Accounting preferred
  • Minimum 12 years of hands-on managerial experience, including supervision of Finance, Treasury, and HR functions
  • Ability to operate as an effective tactical and strategic thinker
  • Experience working with third-party investors and lenders
  • Experience with workflow management
  • Knowledge of health benefits and ACA requirements
  • Familiarity with insurance markets a plus
  • Expertise with budgeting/forecasting and cash flow modeling
  • Knowledge of investments and risk profiles
  • Strong computer/system skills and experience with system upgrades and implementations

  • This position is responsible for the direct supervision of the Finance department.
  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
