JOB BRIEF

We are seeking an enthusiastic System/Network Administrator Intern to join our technology team. This person will work under the guidance of the IT Director and the Delhi Office System/Network Administrator.  A general description of work includes providing hardware and software technical support to employees (printer installation, software updates, general in-house technical support), assist with testing and maintenance of systems and networks, and assisting with GreenSlate's IT documentation and asset tracking initiatives.

What you will do

 

-          Become familiar with GreenSlate's network, including the local Delhi network and remote office connections.

-          Assist with routine hardware and software support, including printer installation and configuration, software installation, configuration, and updating, and general routine help-desk type of IT assistance to employees.

-          Assist with the purchase, receipt, installation and configuration of new hardware and equipment.  Assist with evaluating older equipment, and reconfiguring or disposing of equipment as necessary.

-          Assist with the development of asset tracking procedures and assist with the creation and maintenance of asset tracking documentation.

-          Perform routine tests on network devices, to include bandwidth testing, server and workstation performance testing, backup and restore testing, anti-virus testing, etc.

-          Perform routine maintenance on workstations and peripherals.  Ensure supplies are adequate.

-          Assist with the documentation of current IT policies and procedures, including proper format and branding.  Assist with developing a system to make IT procedures easily available to both the IT team and other employees, in the form of a "How To" document repository.

 

Requirements

-          A working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (emphasis on Word, Excel and Outlook)

-          Familiarization with computer workstation hardware and peripherals (i.e. familiarization with the concepts of processors, RAM, hard drive storage, etc.)

-          Familiarization with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VOIP, Windows networking, etc.)

-          Familiarization with network hardware (routers, switches, modems, etc.)

-          A driven desire to expand knowledge of all of the above concepts
